I don’t know where to put this so it seen by the right people. I’m hesitant to talk about it, but I’ve been tracking troll farms activities for a number of years now and I feel it’s important to make someone aware.
As we all know, social engineering, behavior modification are very real things, but I’m unsure if people realize how prevalent it is and how damaging.
How it works
The paid troll farms consist of roughly a dozen to two dozen people. Each of them will have a dozen fake accounts on each platform. There are farms from every country. Many of them began in forums as Anon.
Their client provides the goal for each campaign just as they would any marketing activities.
Events are either altered or events that never occured are created and narratives spun accordingly. They saturate the internet with them and create assorted websites.
They manipulate the SEO to bury the truth or black list it all together. To what extent five eyes are involved I couldn’t say.
Then the farms, cells, and bots go to work. They push these narratives and give the illusion that more people agree with it than really do. This likely is all known by certain government entities.
These farms were operating independently for the most part up until 2019. Then they began shifting to paid jobs by unknown sources. Prior to this they were being paid as influencers by the platforms.
The information is mapped in a very specific way as most of you know. It’s simply good marketing. However, it is having other affects that I am unsure if it’s been considered.
The target audience is presented with a highly emotional headline. It is packed with triggering words that often change the meaning of the event as well. For example, substituting arrest with kidnap.
This puts the TA in a mild fight or flight state. The brain will now prioritize emotion over logic. The narrative is spun and messaging is sent that if you don’t agree you are not moral. Emotions are now dictating reality instead of reality dictating emotions.
The farms will push these ideas and validate that it is right to judge with emotion instead of logic. Any one that opposes these ideas will be handled systematically.
The troll farms will seek to entrap those that oppose the narrative and keep reporting them until their opposing views are removed or banned.
The farms will also set traps. They will post controversial content with the intent on entrapping those that oppose the narrative so that they can report them.
Using their skills they dominate the algorithm and silence voices that oppose the narrative.
On the surface this appears black hat but not harmful when in fact it is.
Let’s set aside the free speech concern and focus on the harm to minds.
Young minds that were captive audiences during COVID were developing. Repeated exposure to these methods while developing can cause issues with self regulation. How do we know this? Look around.
However, I have larger concerns still yet.
What if one of the target audiences met certain criteria for a specific campaign that had the intent in destabilizing identity?
A young person has neuroplasticity, and they are going thru rapid pruning. Their personality is heavily shaped by what they are exposed to. As you may all recall, teen years are turbulent as we try to find our place in the world. We are developing our identity. Our identity is shaped by what the world around us says is acceptable. We naturally seek to fit in.
Our youth were developing in a time in which inclusion brought labels that made you special and different.
Please look into a disorder called borderline personality disorder and DID. Both are issues with the identity. At the core of these conditions is an identity crises.
In borderline personality another key issue is self regulation. They experience the world with their emotions. Their emotions dictate their reality. You getting what I’m laying down?
I submit, that if this is investigated further, evidence will come to light that certain youth were targeted with the intent to destabilize identity. With each one that began to transition this was dollar signs for the farms and who else?
If you look into it, you will find that the number of people that identify as transgender are also borderline personality is alarmingly high. This isn’t a coincidence. The gender dysphoria didn’t cause the BPD. The BPD caused the gender dysphoria, and the BPD was caused by troubled home life and developing under aforementioned conditions.
These troll farms are also interfering with elections by silencing opposing voices damaging the platforms by running off organic engagement, and damaging others livelihood that had been working as legitimate influencers.
I’m nobody, but if we care about our future and our youth, we will wake up and put a stop to this. I don’t mean censoring people. I mean the opposite. I mean tracking these farms and holding them accountable. They have free speech but do they have a right to get paid to interfere with elections and to cause permanent psychological harm?
