Treatment availability post eating disorders

Over 30 million (outdated number) people have reported as having an eating disorder during their lifetime. Eating disorders effect all races, genders, orientations, and levels of income. It is a health issue as well as a mental health issue that has long lasting effects even after full recovery. Sadly, most medical providers know little on the subject of what happens to the body after recovery, which results in misdiagnoses, and ineffective interventions that may further complicate overall health. Real research needs to be done, and health insurance needs to recognize eating disorders as a chronic health condition (during and while recovered). Treatment should be made available, and covered under health plans. Just because the behaviours have ceased does not mean that the body has completely healed.

You’re the first I’ve seen to mention this.
I will add it to my ongoing thread, which you can use to view the other interconnected situations within the paradigm of mental health.
Thank you, :pray:t2:

I have specialized in the treatment of eating disorders for 30+ years and completely agree!
