Transparency of Congressional Bills and Votes

Make it mandatory for members of congress to maintain a certain percentage of bills voted on out of all bills proposed during their terms to be eligible for re-election.

This is to work with another couple bills I am proposing where:

  • One is that bills must be posted publicly for a minimum of 30 days before a vote

  • The other where votes of the members should be made public to the people so they are able to see how their representatives are representing them.

Transparency is such a good idea that it deserves its own movement!

I wonder if we can create an app or citizen-run website that shines a light 24/7 on what Congress is doing. Perhaps a law that everything that’s not classified must be public?

I had the same thoughts exactly, an app to publish, but also allow users to “mock vote” on all the bills the congress members vote on so that you can compare your votes to your representatives, and it would be able to show how each member is voting compared to how the people of their districts are voting.
