I think everyone who goes to college ends up wasting too much of their first two years with meaningless college courses that run up their debts and have nothing at all to do with their college degree and is a complete waste of time.
My proposal would change college curriculum to a three year plan
Year one — Students will undergo classes that will help them with basic knowledge skills that have been instilled since grammar school and then some important fundamental classes for world understanding. Classes would be the following
Reading , Comprehension Class, and basic writing class
These classes are important to make sure students have the basic understanding of reading, writing, and comprehension levels to undergo a normal work day life.
More advanced Basic Math and an Economics Class
Students will always have to understand math for finance reasons and having an understanding of economics will help college students start to develop a budget plan for their life and future endeavors.
A United States Government and World History Class that covers basic elements of political events happening around the world
Students always need to understand how their Government works and how it works for them. Students will also discuss world events and get a better understanding of how these events have transpired and what led to them happening in the first place.
Year Two and Three
Students in these years will focus primarily on their degree aspirations and undertake classes that will further define their job desires and passions.
Students are wasting too much time in too many classes that have done nothing for their core development and have only made them have more desire to change their career goals to potentially something much easier and they do not challenge themselves.
