Elected Congressional members should have term limits to discourage career politicians that don’t affect change or respresent their constituents. They should also not be allowed to trade stocks while in office and privy to insider information. Their pay should end when they leave office just like any other job fulfilled. Retirement should be structured like any other executive role. This could help restore faith in Congress from Americans and weed out bad actors who run for office for the wrong reasons, bringing people who are truly civil servants and want to help.
