I am proposing term limits for any public official. I’ll make it very easy and quick.
- No more than two (2) terms in any public office.
- If you desire to seek a future political office; you must be living and working in the private sector for a length of time no less than one (1) terms worth of the office of which you are seeking.
- Willfully seeking a new office before the appropriate time has expired shall forfeit your right to seek another public office.
Example:
George is currently in the House of Representatives (a congressman). He is approaching the end of his second term, so he has been there for four (4) years. He would like to go to the Senate which has six (6) year terms. George would be required to hold a regular job (of his choosing) for no less than six (6) years before he is allowed to run for a Senate seat.
