Past research has found tampons and other menstrual products may contain chemicals such as perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS; plasticizers, also known as phthalates; and volatile organic compounds, or VOCs , emitted as gas or fragrances from many consumer products.
Additionally: require tampons and pads to contain full ingredient lists and regulate them through the FDA. Currently, my understanding is that there’s nothing really stopping period companies from lying about the ingredients.
YES.
I am really hoping that RFK not only focuses on the ingredients in food, but other hygiene care products as well, especially feminine hygiene products.
Yes! Its terrifying that anything we used is SO contaminated with harmful chemicals!
YES YES YES!
Women have no choice—— We menstruate!!!
The vagina is it’s own ecosystem, so we put in/on/around our privates, directly impact our health. The chemicals/toxic in tampons, pads, menstrual discs, cups, even underwear can be so dangerous for us! It causes cancer, cysts, changes the pH balance, ect.
Anything that rests against or is put on/near/inside the vagina must have special requirements and regulations to ensure that ecosystem is protected and is not being poisoned.
Essentially its the same thing with food and skin— If we are MAHA— women’s products should be included!
Tampons in general are really not healthy, however I agree that there should be NO CHEMICALS in our feminine products, makeup, or skincare.
