Take care of our veterans - health, living, mental, ect

Our vets are not being taken care of. The country is giving more money to the illegals that are here and to God knows what else than it is to our veterans who have served this country. That is not okay. There are way too many homeless veterans or veterans who are barely making it by. If you think the VA takes care of their veterans, they haven’t been. They cover less than when the military members are actively serving. Medicines and procedures cost more. There’s vets who have severe ptsd and have a hard time retaining a job. Create some type of system to help them! Don’t let them become homeless. This has been an issue for too long. Let’s take care of the people who sacrificed their lives for this country.

I agree. And I think that there are many veterans who have PTSD and yet are functioning for many years in silent pain, some of them having their lives ruined by it. And the FAMILIES of veterans with PTSD are also at risk of having secondary PTSD, as told to me by a VA Psychiatrist. The families, the spouses and children have been damaged by the veteran’s PTSD. I believe we need a push for PTSD Support Groups at the Veteran’s Clinics that are available for Vets AND their families! So many people are suffering and many times, just being able to sit in a group and talk to someone else who has walked in your shoes makes ALL the difference. It can make the difference between a broken marriage and damaged children, and a family that can be repaired. To make this even better, some of these groups should be faith based. That is where the real answers are.
