Since it’s so expensive to capture and deport illegals, start a program where illegals can book a flight home commercially and the U.S. will pay the fare provided they agree to never re-enter illegally and, if they do and are captured, automatic 10 year prison sentence. No questions asked. Just leave. Thank you for your courtesy.
I mean, the threat of forced deportation is strong enough that the ones interested in doing this are already leaving without having to be paid already.
That’s strong enough in my opinion. Anything that can hasten the nasty deportation will ultimately save our country monies that they are currently paying to house and feed these people. Indiana it cost us more to create the threat than it would to reimburse them to self support. Also, Having the signed agreement saying they agree not to re-enter or be charged will save us money on the border and enforcement in the event that they are recaptured.
