Forward: Children are the future. As a nation it is our best interest to enable and reinforce the foundation of our nation, having children and raising them in two parent families. Mothers should always be supported as the foundation of society, their gift to society of having children should benefit a permanent reduction in taxes. Fatherhood is also to be encouraged and supported as a benefit to society as a whole.
Objective: Encourage two parent families by creating a tax incentive that replaces a tax obligation with a permanent tax credit structure that rewards women for having at least 3 children and rewards fathers for marrying and raising children. The objective is to further enable families to once again thrive on a single income. Parenthood should be seen as a social benefit to society and rewarded for the permanent contribution of people.
Policy: Motherhood is rewarded.
- Mothers receive a 33% tax reduction per child. (No restriction on age, tax credit is a permanent lifetime reduction)
- Married Fathers share tax reduction benefits as long as they are married to a qualifying Mother.
- Divorce or separation removes tax reduction from fathers.
Conclusion The country needs strong families, and parenthood does not end when children are 18 or 26, the tax benefits of becoming parents should be a lifetime benefit for contributing people to society.
