There are likely many examples of duplicate programs, such as the NERRS and NEP which protect estuaries under the CZMA and the CWA. These are good programs, but a consolidated effort would be more efficient and may be better suited under Interior. Dramatic reductions in federal side funding would also have almost no impact on the programs as 95% of the work occurs on state side. Conservation programs should be strengthened for a variety of reasons but the [plentiful] duplication is wasteful of resources that could be enhancing our natural world. The focus should be on the ground, nature/people, and the endless climate change modeling, DEI, meetings, webinars, etc. need to eliminated.
