The government shouldn’t be allowed to take your home that you paid off after you pass if you went to a nursing home.
This leaves the family’s with nothing and the person already paid for their home and paid their taxes. They paid their dues. Theres no need for this .

some states it is a common thing. The state takes away your house after you die if you go to a nursing home like most elderly people. Its terrible esp if its your grandparents home that they worked hard for and paid their taxes.
