Stop sending money overseas and start helping our own citizens

We are constantly involved with other countries trying to help them “rebuild”, or getting involved in their wars, taking in their refugees, etc. But what about our own American people that are homeless? What about our struggling veterans? Why are we not providing them safe environments or allowing them places they can stay, rehabilitate, and enter society with new skills, trades, physical and mental health help, etc?

We should create more facilities that will care for homeless. We should get them the help that they need to become a functioning part of society. More shelters, more soup kitchens, rehab facilities, work for housing opportunities, etc. Something needs to be done here for our people. Let’s take care of our own so that we can stay strong together.

With the trillions spent on various wars over the last 20 years… we could have transformed this country top to bottom. New infrastructure of all kinds, affordable housing, a big beautiful border wall, ending forest fires, lower taxes, the works.

I agree with you. We need more of these things. I also recognize the reality of homeless people as well. The mental illness, the desire to use and abuse substances, the indesire for help, a desire to live on the streets and not change. For these types of homeless, we should probably give them their own place away from society and let them use substances in a safe area until they exist no longer. It can be seen as cruel, but people set in their ways won’t change. We can perhaps give them labor-tasks for money and a place they can get their fix and pass away peacfully. For these types of people, we can also have programs where people visit them and try to council them to change, seek rehab, and provide food and shelter, but it would be up to the homeless of this type to ultimately make their own change.
