Please stop taxing police and fire government pensions in retirement. The earnings are paid from taxes taken from the people paying property taxes. Then the earnings are taxed after pension portion is removed. Then if you own a home you pay property taxes. In addition, like everyone else, you pay sales tax, gas tax, taxes on all services, restaurants, and almost everything else you use or buy. So the property taxes that pay for police and fire are taxed before they are sent to the city and then taxed again and again thereafter. The same dollars are taxed multiple times. Let’s say thank you to police and fire employees after 20-30 years of service and not also tax their city or state pensions. Thank you.
