The federal government should not get involved in this sort of thing.
There are so many flaws in this thinking. First, daycares donât receive money from the government. Second, who is going to pay for this? Third, wouldnât this just add to our on going problem with our welfare system? If youâre not working and receiving free money from the tax payers, then youâre receiving welfare. If you want to have more people able to stay home to raise their kids, etc.,you need to lift the tax burden off of the people so they can afford to stay home and raise their kids.
I donât agree with paying a mom to raise the children she chose to have using taxpayer money. Tax relief is fine, but not direct payments. Personal choices should remain personal responsibilities, and people could consider waiting to have kids until they can fund those choices independently.
For one, ending property taxes should happen, as everyone should not pay taxes on property they should own, however, there are always other taxes that are attached to the property taxâŚthose taxes should be considered âuse taxesâ and should be slightly different for each family. A family that doesnât have a vehicle should not have to pay a road use tax. If parents homeschool their kids, they should not have to pay a tax for local schools. Those other taxes, I.E. emergency workers (fighters, police, ambulance, etc.), city taxes, and anything not property related, should be considered all part of the âuse taxâ. If property taxes are stopped, you still are responsible for the âuse taxâ portion, and should be taxed based on the âuse of servicesâ according to each family. We all know that each family is different, with different needs. Everyone should not have to pay the same âuseâ taxes, because each family uses different services.
Everything in the economy is assuming a two income household. Housing costs, daycare costs, etc.
caring for a family at home IS work. a lot of work, if done properly. rather more difficult and time consuming than most paid jobs.
This is just another form of welfare and will eventually form into generational welfare for people that would rather not work. Who is to pay for you staying home? Just like Bidenâs Student Loan Forgiveness, why should I be forced to pay for something you want to do? Where does it end?
I canât see how this is much different from paying off student loans accrued by others. I donât feel it is the responsibility of others to pay for your children. If you choose to stay home, great. Pay for it yourself. If your child has a disability and someone MUST stay home, thatâs a different scenario, and by all means you should get help. Please donât expect everyone else to pay for your choices,
I agree stay at home parents have a tough job, however I refuse to absolutely have my hard working tax dollars pay for someone to be at home!
I donât own a car and I donât like cars.
still, a share of my tax money is used to pay for car infrastructure like roads, signs, lights etc.
why should I pay for something I donât want? Right: taxes are about public interest, not about personal preferences.
My understanding is that road infrastructure and such are paid through the licensing and fuel taxes that one pays in the course of driving. Since you donât like or own a car, you have no obligation to the roads that YOU indeed share because I doubt you sit in the house all day. You must engage in normal household shopping so in effect, you are using the roads for free since you donât contribute.
I pay taxes, I do contribute. in fact, I contribute to a lot of things Iâm not really happy with. like everyone.
but as most thing work more or less, and in other places it isnât better, its sort of ok
exactly, but a flat tax that everyone pays when they buy a service or product, if you had your whole income your money would go much further and you could have moms stay at home with kids, then when kids are old enough to go to school then mom could work part time if needed to pay for school! or maybe decide to stay home and home school. We have to step away from money taken from us without us allowing it
Would it not be awesome if your husband was able to keep his entire income minus retirement savings! that would go so much further if he did not pay income taxes, or property taxes. and you only paid for services and products. I dont think we should pay taxes on food or used clothing either. But how wonderful would it be to have all that extra income
I agree, letâs get back to a model of a strong family where the mom is home raising the children in place of the model where moms believed they were being liberated & have rights, because the truth is someone long ago set this false propaganda idea to tear the family unit apart and create another taxable income!! Do the research. Allow moms to raise the children at home, teach them how to cook, grow food, care for animals, play in the mud, learn to build things & fight from their dads, just look at the Amish.
