Stay-At-Home Income Tax Cut

As my kids grow up, I give all of their older clothes to a friend of mine who has a child who is younger. His wife suffered health problems during covid he has worked his ass off for years at the same non-profit healthcare system just as I did. I am struggling as well but I can help him. I wish someone had done this for me. But at no point did I ever say that because no one helped me by donating children’s clothes, am I just going to throw all of my kids old clothes away. Be the change you want to see.

What are these tax breaks that dual working families receive that single income families do not receive? I would like to be educated on this. I am not aware of any at the moment.

There transfer from income tax to tariffs shpuld already take care of this. No one paying income tax period. And if you look at the tariff projections, it will he a boon for the economy. America was made great by tariffs. Income tax started in 1913 will Federal Reserve. All that is about to be obselete!! No worries on this issue!

I think if we went to just a 10% flat tax or a no income tax for everyone this would benefit you as well.

You do get a childcare tax credit, that I don’t believe stay at home parents can utilize.

Because stay at home moms are working, not a traditional job because we don’t get paid. We’re living off one income because we can’t afford the day care cost. I did the math for my family and the income I would bring home would all go to day care cost

I agree my children are all grown too. However, I chose to stay home and watch my grandchild. It helps them financially but has been hard on us. I wish there was something to help a family member stay home with the children.

Perhaps we can adopt or emulate the Hungarian Government as it provides a lifetime personal income tax exemption for women who give birth to and raise at least four children. Instead of giving foreign countries billions of our tax payer money

Below a description of the benefits and government support for families and stay home moms: ( all of this is Hungarian $$ - we should adapt it to our living standards)
Monthly Tax Deduction:
One child: $180.01
Two children (per child): $359.99
Three or more children (per child): $594.00

Vehicle Purchase Subsidy: $6,750.00

Housing Support (for three children): $27,000.00

Our government should place birth rates and population growth at the forefront of their agenda

I was a SAHM with 2 kids during the late 90’s and early 2000’s. This tax break sure would’ve benefitted us back then. I took on various part-time jobs to help out.
I dont regret staying home with my kids. They are both well adjusted adults now. I see the positive impact it had on them.
If a woman wants to be a Mom and pour her time and energy into raising her children, she should be able to afford to. SAHMS deserve respect for their decision, it’s long overdue.

As a parent of 7 children, the cost of day care is impossible for average working class Americans like myself.

I’m not discounting this point because my mom raised my brother and I alone, however, I do think it almost incentivizes the parents to stick together! Just a thought!

On one hand, I’m all for it as my daughter is now a SAHM because financially speaking going back to work would cost more than she’d make.
On the other hand, looking back on my life, financial assistance for single parents would have helped me so much. My ex rarely if ever paid child support. Not to mention the single parents who stay in abusive relationships because they can’t afford to leave.
Maybe the answer is to extend this to all single income families.

Just saw someone on TikTok talking about this!! Please, this would be amazing!

I’m 28 and my dream has always to be a housewife, a stay at home mother who takes care of her family by making the warmest home possible, but I have found myself not wanting to bring children to this world since I can barely survive in this life, it would be so selfish to give that to my kids, so I’m everyday depress because I want, I crave that life for me and my partner, if this comes true, then that would be actually possible to have.
Please make it come true for me and others who want this life, make our dream come true :blue_heart:

I feel like everyone no matter if they are working or not should get childcare tax credits. I feel like all parents should be compensated for childcare, weather that means you are taking care of the children yourself or if you are sending them to daycare. Many women sacrifice their whole paychecks to send their children to daycare because they cannot afford to take a gap in their careers. I am not fighting against stay-at-home mothers being compensated for the HARD work they do, I’m just saying that working mothers are also struggling to keep up as well with the cost of childcare. A solution to BOTH would be higher tax breaks for parents. Compensation for childcare in general for all parents no matter if they stay at home or have careers.

True, however we have to start at some point. There is no policy that everyone will benefit.

This would be incredible, as a stay at home mom our income is so limited. We and other families would have MORE children if we could afford it! 100% support!

Income tax/IRS was never constitutional. This money is used against We The People and the citizens of the world for nefarious purposes like wars and human trafficking. Abolish the IRS, the Fed and all income taxes.

It doesn’t really make sense to work if all your money goes to childcare. Why pay another person to care for your children? If SAHMS could be compensated some way, that would be great for mothers who want to be the ones to care for their little ones.
