Thanks to outdated regulations, small farms face roadblocks when trying to sell their meat across state lines. Right now, a state-licensed facility in Oregon can’t legally process meat for sale beyond the state borders unless it’s USDA-certified—a tall order when zero USDA poultry facilities are open to the public in Oregon, Washington, or Montana. This monopoly on meat processing unfairly tilts the market in favor of big players while small farmers are left juggling red tape and restricted to local sales. A state-licensed facility should be enough; small farms deserve a fair shot to reach broader markets without crossing a USDA-certified Rubicon.

Sounds like regulations being used to protect big companies.
