There is no need for many government departments and agencies to be located in Washington D.C. The department of Agriculture, the EPA, Housing, Labor, transportation, veterans affairs, Interior, Education, and HHS can’t be located in multiple states around the country. Especially in places with lower costs of living. It would save money on government expenditures. Also, would decrease lobbying activities to these departments that are centrally located in DC. Conferences, meetings, and even cabinet meetings can be all completed via zoom. It would allow for more of the nation to have a chance to work in government. Imagine the department of energy in Texas or Oklahoma. Or the Departments of HHS in Georgia near the cdc. Part of this proposal would also require a more software and automation of tasks to decrease the number of employees in the federal government. Get Washington out of Washington!
Interesting idea, I can see the appeal, but I think getting rid of depts. and agencies is a better way to go.
I recommend checking out Article 1 Section 8 of the US Constitution. It lists the specific powers We the People gave to the federal government. The 10th Amendment gives all other powers to the states. HHS, from your submission, has no connection to any federally enumerated power. And each state, county, and city has their own health departments. I think it would be best to get rid of unconstitutional and redundant departments rather than spread them around the country.
Yep. Get rid of all of that. Disperse the power into and through local communities and create a new State process to share the outcomes. New idea of Governance. Use of Common Law. The Republic. Love that you brought this out!
