Social Security

Something needs to be introduced that protects social security from being borrowed against and protected against abuse.

I came to say the exact same thing. Protect it and only if you paid in, you can withdraw from it. Minor children on parents accounts and spouses on spouse account too. Plus NO TAXES on it.

Agree 100% and it should not be taxed.

I’d like to see Congress pay back Social Security and then be prohibited from ‘borrowing’ against it ever again!

I wish that government accounting was more transparent first off. I have concerns about us as citizens trusting government representatives to spend our money.

I wish we had nonprofit auditors audit the government. If we as business owners have to have outside auditing to hold us accountable, our government should be the same.

For social security especially we NEED to have a special fund instead of letting that tax money go into the general fund. From a special fund we can save that money for seniors and MAKE MONEY holding it, investing, etc.

We need transparency in accounting. We need experts working and representing our government books.

It would be such a shock and honor if Trump’s administration were to initiate some form of federal audit! The first in American history. I believe in our future!

I need help. I took out a loan to make the back payments they requested I pay SSA. Then a year later they added over 5,000 back on my account without any notification that was already paid and I was told all I can do is request an accounting. I cannot even request a hearing without an accounting first. .
I have been calling for years and they now have stole almost 2,000 from me that I do not owe and I have no recourse. Im told all they can do is send an email. An email that failures to produce any result. My rights have been violated and every time they owe me money the take more from me. Please help I have no recourse at all.

I really don’t know who you need to talk to. I would contact my representative wherever i live and ask for them to investigate. Getting a lawyer is expensive so contacting your representatives office and maybe they can direct you to the right source. Sorry your having to deal with this.

How did you get into the mess of having to pay back payments anyway?

I had to work because I get less than 900 a month. so I took a loan to pay them After one year they decided to add it back on account as an overpayment again without any notice to me. My rights violated and I have no recourse they just keep taking my money. Thus far no one can call them because the centers are cut off from the rest of SSA offices so all they can do is send emails asking them to respond to my accounting request. After years of the office sending messages it goes ignored.

My Goodness Thats terrible. I agree with another person–get ahold of your senator or house rep. Praying for you

I AGREE 100%. STOP Giving It To ILLEGALS Like Biden/Harris Did.
No Borrowing Of It By The Government When It Needs Money. I’m 73 And SS Is My Only Source Of Income. What Would I Do If SS Ran Out Of Money? IT NEEDS TO. BE PAID BACK AND PROTECTED. Thank You For Posting This Idea🇺🇸

No senior on Social security should receive less that $2000 per month…some are receiving less than $1000 right now…FIX IT with money previously given to foreign countries.

There are many people who paid into Social Security but never achieved the required quarters and never received their Social Security…their money taken from their checks over the 30+ years of their lifetime of work should be REFUNDED to them…using the money that has previously been given to foreign countries.

There have been many people who turned 65 but did not sign up for social security immediately…some were quite healtny and didn’t think about any needed coverage…some just forgot…those people have been penalized every month after their signing up for social security and are being penalized every month there after…how long should a person be penalized…abolish this law and refund the money to those people being penailized.

Social Security is not an entitlement, it is my money. I have worked and paid into this system for over 50 years and expect what is mine. I have a fear that this incoming regime will destroy what is in place for their own benefit. I am hoping for the best, but I hoped for the best with the election too.

What if we send a bill to the foreign countries for any benefits the illegal entrants received. If the foreign country wont pay(as i would expect), then we withhold any foreign aid OR raise the tariffs on anything they export to us

Social Security should only be for those who pay into it and perhaps their spouses. Noone else should be able to access these funds. That includes politicians, non-citizens, dead people, scammers, etc. Lets guard social security funds for those who deserve it. Just think of the money that can be saved.

he is not talking about illegals but you Americans taking it away so you can live on the streets at the end of your days.

CONGRESS needs to AGAIN pass a law stating that The Windfall Elimination Provision (WPO) (stating that Social Security retirement benefits for government employees should be figured in the same way as those for all other senior citizens,) and The Government Pension Offset (GPO) (said that government pensions should offset any Social Security spousal benefits potentially due, just as Social Security retirement benefits have always offset those same spousal benefits) are LAW.

BECAUSE BOWING to relentless pressure from government employee unions and advocacy groups, a more naive and vote-seeking Congress has repealed the WEP and GPO.
So once again, government retirees will get overly generous Social Security benefits that no other senior citizens in the country are eligible for. And by so doing, they have put a $200 billion hole in an already rapidly deflating Social Security budget balloon.
EPOCH TIMES
AND change the way social security funds are invested. The current way loses billions every year.
