Social Security Fairness Act is wrong

The social security fairness act is not good.
Government employees have their own retirement and pensions funded by our taxes. They never contributed into the social security fund, yet they want to draw social security in addition to their government retirements.
This does not make any sense.

This is not fairness. There are those who say that social security will run out of money by 2035. So why pay those who never paid into it? Additionally, illegal people are receiving social security, this also does not make any sense.

Wish I could get one check today for every penny I paid in. I’ll invest in my own retirement, since the politicians have failed as honest fiduciaries of my money.

Curious too that AARP, the largest organization supposedly with the interest of seniors in mind is silent on anything to do with social security. All they seem to want to do is spend exorbitant amounts of money trying to sell insurance and cell phones. Quite frustrating.

No one who did not pay into Social Security should be allowed to receive payments from Social Security. Additionally, with the numerous methods of saving for retirement now, contributions to Social Security should not be mandatory. I agree. I will take a lump sum payment now for the amount I have paid in and will invest that in ways that will far exceed what I would receive from Social Security. Plus, any amount remaining will be become part of my estate, unlike all the money I have paid into Social Security all my working life.

Certainly no non-citizens should be getting social security.

You’re premise is not correct. I’ve been a federal employee for 43 years and social security withdrawals have been taken from my paycheck the whole time.

The social security system is largely flawed.
It needs to me moved back into an untouchable, high yield intrest account. Moving it into a general fund account allowed it to be used on illegals and for polititions like pelosi to use millions of it to fight false cases against trump.
Retirement age needs to be decided by each individual not the government. Perhaps set a minimum age of say 55 to collect.
Any remaining money from a deceased individual needs to be given to a spouse, offspring or beneficiary of the deceased as a sort of un-taxed inheritance.
Each person should have the choice to either receive monthly payments or to collect their full lump sum amount.
