There needs to be a new policy that doesn’t require Medicare until a person’s Social Security full benefits date. You should be able to opt in to Medicare if you choose to receive Social Security earlier. Medicare is triple my current health insurance coverage and I shouldn’t be required to take Medicare or suffer a penalty before my Social Security full benefits age. I really don’t want it all and I want to keep my current health care because it’s 3 times less expensive than Medicare. That doesn’t include the Medicare supplemental insurance most people purchase as well. The price is outrageous compared to what I’m paying now.
