The Smith-Mundt Modification Act should be revoked or amended to STOP broadcasters from spewing fake news. My understanding is the Smith Mundt Act was originally set up to allow propaganda be broadcast in foreign nations for national security reasons back in the 1940s. The Modification Act happened around 2012 to make it OK to spew propaganda to American citizens! This needs immediate action to hold broadcasters accountable for fake news stories that hurt the United States.
