Separate state elections for federal / mandate voter ID for federal

The only way to mandate voter ID is to separate state and local elections from a federal election
States can have whatever laws they want about how they ID or don’t ID voters. That would be a state issue based on our constitution
However, to vote in a federal election, there must be federal election laws, and those laws did include a required voter ID. It should be free and it should be as hard to get as a passport. We should use the same stringency To Vet, our voters as we do for deciding who gets a passport to leave the country and return. I really don’t see a difference in how much those two situations need to be scrutinized and monitored. They both have equal importance in our republic

No… a Constitutional Amendment requiring Voter ID and proof of citizenship is the way.

There are no federal elections.

All elections are state elections, and should remain state elections. Even the presidential election, which is the only election that all citizens across the union can vote in, is a collection of 50 state elections plus D.C.

Federal Senate and House elections are most definitely state elections. There are elections for representatives who serve in the federal government. But there are no federal elections.

Putting elections under federal control would put too much control in too few hands, out of the control of the people. Doing that would be a grave error.

I agree with Texasmom23. I would like to see a 24 hour national holiday to vote only for federal representation and issues. This is where we could also vote for pay raises for our federal representation, and any other federal issues that should be voted on by We The People. This could be managed by a Federal Election Integrity Agency. This agency would be responsible for sending out the pamphlet and all voting locations/times, etc. It would also be responsible for ensuring voting locations are secure and counting is done securely.
This would prevent what happened to RFK in some states. We never received a voters pamphlet this year, and those that did said DJT wasn’t even in the pamphlet.
The States would have another day and can decide by Mail-In or however they choose. That ballot would only consist of State and Local issues.
There is too much control in the States hands regarding our Federal elections. Look at Arizona and Pennsylvania.
