Senior citizens property tax and school tax exemption

All American Citizens 60 years of age and older are to be exempt from paying property taxes and school taxes.
By the time any American citizen has reached senior citizen status they have paid more than their share of taxes on property
By the time any American citizen has reached senior citizen status they have paid more than their fair share of school taxes. At the age of 60 I have raised my children. At the age of 60, even all but one of my grandchildren are no longer in high school. I should no longer be required to pay school taxes. We are now on a fixed income. We own our home and have raised our children. I worry about being able to keep my home only because our property taxes are so high. This is an expense we should be allowed to take off of our expense / budget list.

I couldn’t agree more, but I’d go even further by making it to when your child graduates from high school you should no longer have to pay any school taxes. Same goes for people who don’t have any children. I would be more than happy to contribute more towards their fund raisers for sports!
