Seek guidance from countries with better food practices

We all know that several other countries will not allow many American products into their food chain. While I’m not a big fan of emulating other governments, I am a big fan of not re-inventing the wheel if the wheel already works well. So why not gather what these countries are doing with regard to safer and higher quality food and adopt these as our own. I feel we basically need to work to cut ties to China where food is concerned. Then we need to insist all food manufactured here adhere to the guidelines or close them down. Companies like Chinese owned Smithfield need to be reigned in. You will never make me believe they have any vested interest in this country other than the Chinese Communist Party. The purchase should never have been allowed. All of the food companies owned by the tobacco companies that have used their scientists to create addictive foods need to be reigned in as well. We could start by insisting they put large bright warning labels on their products like we do with cigarettes. Finally healthier choices need to be affordable for average consumers. Feeding a family is high now with crap food, and most organic food is out of range for many.
