Revolutionary Taxation Policy

Individuals and corporations are throttled by a tax code so voluminous and complex that it borders on the absurd.

In the interest of the common good, we have created a beast so powerful that it seems impossible to imagine anything else.

Taxation is, however, necessary to ensure our basic common needs, including defence and the rule of law and infrastructure.

The founders of this nation could not have imagined that our country could be as economically powerful as we are today, nor could they imagine that we would be taxed as oppressively as what amounts to four months of wages in taxes for the average citizen and close to the same amount of profits of businesses.

Our nation has joined a global economy at the expense of our own citizens but has adopted rules of play that encourage the outflow of capital, profit and labor.

I propose a radical tax system that preserves all the advantages and stability that we have enjoyed from a global economy, which reasserts American sovereignty and guarantees growth at levels only developing nations enjoy.

This can be achieved through a sustained implementation over at most seven years without resulting in destabilisation.

The replacement of personal income tax with tariffs on imports requires a parallel and permanent elimination of tax on domestic corporations and extraction of natural resources and all federal taxes and levies.

For this system to succeed, the method of tariffs must also be carefully changed such that importers no longer pay duties, but rather the exporters remit duties directly to the treasury to clear the ports. Excise duties.

In order for this system to remain permanent and viable for the long term, we must eliminate the inflationary mechanisms of the Federal Reserve to act as a dilutive tool, as inflation itself is a hidden method of taxation.

This system allows for imports to fund our federal government exclusively, including social programs but it also effectively limits government spending and incentives domestic growth in tandem.

This system takes us out of slavery and into freedom.
