Revamp the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, and promote industrial hemp production

The amazing hemp plant is often over looked due to the marijuana and cbd debate. In addition to fiber for clothing and rope, anything that you can make with plastic can be made with hemp, and reduce the micro plastics found in the ocean and even in our bodies. Other products that can be created from hemp:

Paper

Plastic

Building material

Hemp clothing

Clothes

Hempcrete

Hemp for textiles and fiber

Beauty products

Why was industrial hemp banned?

Concern over the use of hemp for drug purposes led to the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937. The law declared hemp and marijuana controlled substances and effectively eliminated the production of industrial hemp (with a few exceptions when fiber was needed during World War II).

I propose that the Federal Government revamp the Marijuana
Tax Act and encourage mass production of hemp plants for use in everyday products while limiting plastic production. Hemp manufacturing would open new jobs and industry for our country. Worried about farm land availability? Rescind the rights of China to own so much of our land! Purchase the land back, at the price they paid.

By growing this industry we open jobs in manufacturing a s agriculture and become a leader in the fight against pollution and micro plastics. Other countries will follow suit and those that can’t will be purchasing from the US. Maybe, eventually, plastics could be all but outlawed.
