Retirement

I feel like retirement should be based on 30 years of employment in total. It does not have to be with the same company. So many people work their whole life and do not have a chance to enjoy it.

What’s the basis you’re using for choosing 30 years?

Any young person can do it now. If you put $50.00 dollars in the bank at 2% interest you will put in a total of $18,000, but because of compounding interest you will have $3,116,402.82 in 30 years. Put in $75.00 and the final input is $27,000, and final total is $4,674,604.23

And this does not take into account the possibility of increasing your monthly deposit as you make more, and money is worth less.

$50.00 for 10 years, then $100 for 10 years, and then $200.00 the final 10 years. I did not calculate it, but you are adding principle right when the interest in starting to build at a greater rate.
