Restructuring of private medical insurance

Private Medical insurance is FAR too expensive for the average American. PPOs are currently not available for individuals who are not part of a group. For example for my family of 6 plus 2 employees, (we own a small business so large group insurance isnt an option) our monthly medical insurance cost is $4300. Thats each month!!! These insurance companies are making an absurd amount of money, paying out very little, and control physicians who then base their diagnosis and treatment on what insurance companies will pay for, etc. Something has to be done.

We need to hold private medical insurance companies accountable. PPO insurance should be available and affordable for individuals and small business owners.

Good insurance companies not off brands that rural American doctors do not take.

I agree! I think restructuring should begin with the medical industrial complex that is centered around profits rather than actual healthcare. Obamas welfare healthcare has got to go. It changed payment to doctors from fee for services to aggregate payments. No longer was is just get paid for services but get paid for how many patients chose the doctor as a primary doctor, and how many “preventative” services you can get people to come in for, how many people you can get to take vaccinations, etc All of those aggregate payments costs the tax payers. Medical care facilities merged and became giant monopolies under hospital systems in many areas. During Covid when dr offices and hospitals were empty, massive amounts of Covid funding (the people’s money) was sent to hospital systems to not only sustain them but many had huge windfalls of cash. We need to return to a fee for services payment system, incorporate alternative naturopathic treatments (big pharma doesn’t profit off that), focus on root causes for illness, cap charges that are not reasonable and bring back quality private health insurance for a reasonable cost. The welfare healthcare system is an unnecessary drain to the American tax payer created for just that purpose- it is a tangled rats nest of bureaucracy. Because of this all health insurance have exorbitant premiums.
