Restrict Lobbying of Congress - Improve Access to Elected Officials

There are many examples of divisive special interest groups adversely impacting policy and the enacting of laws that are not beneficial to all Americans.

The Lobbyists on Capital Hill have wielded undue influence over the Congress for far too long.

Proposal:

  1. Sunshine Law for Lobbyists - All meetings held with elected officials and their staff must be documented and published monthly on an official government web site accessible to the public.
  2. Members must be required to spend 50% of the calendar year in their home state offices. These offices must have posted hours Monday - Friday and a method to make appointment with the members to discuss policy and other issues relevant to the constituency.
