Anyone who burns or disrespects the American flag should actually get arrested and serve time. Too many people have disrespected our flag while protesting and getting away with it.

Nope. That is considered freedom of speech. However, I could support deporting any non-citizen, especially illegal immigrants, who are holding demonstrations/rallies and waving flags from other countries while burning the US flag. For example, having anti-Israel protest waving the Palestinian flag and burning the American flag should be grounds to deport non-Americans and revoke student visas.

I believe burning the American flag is extremely disrespectful. However, if the flag is their property, then unfortunately I believe they should have the right to burn it if they want. Perhaps there could be a policy where if an individual burns the American flag in a public setting, they could pay a fine. That’s as far as I would take it.

I agree. You guys have good points. It’s just mind boggling that there aren’t harsher consequences for disrespecting our flag especially on American soil. I understand it’s considered freedom of speech but something has to give.
There is a problem with morals in this country. The looting, burning, and harmful acts will not end unless as a country we stop being morally void. The people do not stand for anything anymore.

Pretty interesting topic
Free speech definitely covers this, and I agree it should cover it. It’s a pretty basic way to criticize our country.
A key question is why they don’t respect the flag, I think that is what you should look into. That is how this should be fixed imo. Let’s make our flag respected again.
