All elected officials should be required to pass a civics test before they can run for office. This test should be more difficult than high school level and tailored for the branch of the government they wish to occupy. This will help to ensure that the people running things actually know how it’s supposed to work and are serious about doing the job.

And it will be even more necessary when we massively expand the US House to serve our current population properly.
Check out the Congressional Apportionment Amendment on Wikipedia and research how the 27th Amendment was ratified in 1992.
Then write to your state rep to ask for ratification of the original first amendment.
I agree with this concept. However, they will most likely study to pass it and then ignore it all in practice after being elected. Basically the same way they take the oath to defend and support the constitution as well as pledging allegiance to the UNITED STATES, then after being sworn in they immediately begin drafting and voting for legislation that violates the constitution and in some cases prioritizes needs in other countries before all needs are met here. They should be required to pass the test and be immediately impeached as well as face criminal charges for violating their oath.
While it is true that they may choose to ignore it, I feel they should at least be required to understand it first. There are many who don’t and get in on appeal and/or demographics with no intention of ever understanding how it’s supposed to work. We make people applying for regular jobs have all kinds of degrees and certifications, but the people who run our country aren’t even required to prove they know what Congress is. There is a huge problem with incompetence and literal stupidity that a test like this could help alleviate.
How about appointed judges? So many don’t seem to know what the Constitution means. Especially the 10th amendment. Perhaps all opinions should have a section expressly assigned for the reasoning of why it is Constitutional.
