Require Doctors to provide both in and out of coverage prices

Currently Doctors and pharmacists are required to provide only the price that the insurance gives them for a particular product and not the actual cost if insurance is even mentioned.

By requiring them to provide the real price as well as the insured price we can finally provide transparency and agency to the patients so we aren’t overpaying for things.

The monopolistic power that insurance has held over the medical field has caused massive stagnation and price gouging for people all over the country.

Currently there is a large deviation in what doctors and other healthcare providers can charge patients, instead of a fixed fee for services.

Prices are not listed online in a readily accessible format. To add insult to injury, many of the same procedures can have different prices depending on the procedure code.

Worst of all, there is rarely an option for self-pay prices, due to indirect agreements between healthcare providers and insurance companies.

We ask for a rule that doctors post self-pay and insurance prices online to ensure price transparency and improve healthcare access.

OON providers are required to list their prices. For INN most probably have no idea because the insurance companies won’t allow that information to be shared and it varies by hospital and private practice. Bigger box shops get paid more than small.
