Repeal The PATRIOT ACT

I’m sitting at the airport now having just gone through TSA security screening and as usual I am livid that NO ONE else seems to care about the egregious violation of our constitutional rights! No one. I never see anyone else refuse facial recognition nor opting out of the deadly full body scans. Just me every single time. I carry a pocket constitution and let everyone nearby know about the evils of this agency and the Patriot Act. I get some nods of agreement but I can see literal fear in the eyes for even considering dissent. Or I get “oh I didn’t know that. But oh well. I’m not doing anything wrong so what’s the big deal”. The nonchalant, complete compliance is maddening. God help wake up more good Americans who need to realize the gross violations happening for decades :pray:t3:

Yes, this was the beginning of the very slippery slope we are currently on.

I find it offensive when illegals cross over our borders and can fly all over with nobody knowing who they are. :rage:

9-11 was a US government “Pearl Harbor” attack. Bush, Cheney, and all involved need to hang by their necks until dead FOR TREASON. The surveillance state must STOP!

This should be first priority

Repealing the PATRIOT Act is a good start. Abolish NSA and DHS as well.

The top suggestion on this site is single-issue bills. If those provisions are so great, then those stand-alone bills should pass no problem.

and the NDAAs that also piggybacked of PATRIOT 1 and 2.

I was in the Coast Guard during and after 9/11. Respectfully, this is exactly why they pass bills with multiple facets. “We can’t get rid of that law, look what else you would lose. Can’t have that!”
Pass a simple, straightforward bill that requires the 18 intelligence agencies to share information and coordinate, and abolish the law that abridges our civil liberties. We can and should do both.

Agreed; so long as the PATRIOT act remains in force, our privacy rights will continue to be violated by the feds.

The general order of items to be dissolved after the complete removal of the Patriot Act and everything associated or tied to the Patriot Act should work something like this :

Then dissolve (DHS, ATF, FBI first) their authorities and incorporate their duties to the state levels. The US Marshals, return to being THE federal law enforcement agency. This will help push for cross communication and overlap which should be organic anyways instead of (the ego/pride filled stonewall which has infected every agency or group from Law Enforcement to Military) it will also involve state and local law enforcement agencies to work with any other groups or teams used by the Marshals and vice versa when arrest authority is needed. No other federal agencies need arrest authority.

CIA remains an OCONUS operation only, not even bilateral operations within the US.

ICE/CBP combined efforts and only authority at ports of entry (sea, air, land) and 5 miles within the US boundaries, not 100. (Should this be further or is shorter better? Depending upon threat assessment?)

Federal funding from the dissolved agencies is put back into the deficiencies in either law enforcement or defense budget.
(To clarify, It’s easy easier to remove a state/local LEO employee than a federal LEO employee. Also, only the Sheriff is elected, which means the city can fire the Chief of Police or Fire Department)

States need to govern states, with the federal government there to render aid and defend the citizen’s constitutional rights if/when the states violate said rights.

A review or audit of action for each LEO/group at the Local, State, and Federal level needs to be done in an agreeable amount of time throughout each tenure to ensure that they are upholding their oaths and obligations to the people.

Could not agree more.

The audit should also emphasize that ALL law enforcement officials have the obligation to protect and defend the Constitution as their first priority. I’ve also come to the belief that we should have elected sheriffs vs. appointed police chiefs – an issue that really came to light during the plandemic and the unconstitutional edicts from state, federal, and unelected global organizations.

There’s a lawn analogy here.

Some weeds in a lawn are practically unavoidable. But sometimes weeds take over so badly that the only option is to kill it all with Round-Up applied repeatedly until all plant life in the area is dead. Then you reseed and have a nice lawn again.

There are too many weeds to simply fix what’s wrong with all of the agencies and programs enabled by the Patriot Act. Kill it all and reseed with the ideas that you think need to remain.
