This bill did not provide health care to Americans. Instead it was a mandate for Americans to purchase insurance plans from Corporate Healthcare Insurance providers (e.g., United Health, Humana, Cigna, etc.) at inflated prices. People who did not purchase plans were penalized.
Repealing this act would force insurance providers to compete again, lowing the overall cost of healthcare insurance to all.
The affordable care act is anything but the title. My cost for health care became so unaffordable that I went with out any for years, only until I became eligible for Medicare. I worked my whole life, and found my self in a job that had no health insurance, so I checked what the cost would be and at over 1000 per month plus a 8000 deductible I took my chance. It worked out for me. My wife has the same issue and is with out coverage. She had a private policy prior to ACA and was forced to drop it soon after this monstrosity became law. Why? The outrageous cost. Every republican ran on removing it from the books, yet we still have it. When will this be repealed? How many people became uninsured as a result of the ACA? I wish all politicians were burdened with the same heath care plan that Americans have to suffer with.
