Remove IDME as government requirement for ID

The current trend of using a US troops discount marketer to now be in charge of National ID verification is ridiculous. Many states, and the Federal Agencies, are requiring citizens to use this contractor to validate the ID of tax payers to access federal assistance. IDME has been hacked several times, leaving citizens open to ID theft, fraud and endless frustration. They have NO MANNED CUSTOMER SERVICE line, their chatbot simply reroutes you to articles and never releases a human being to assist in cases of fraud (you are simply blocked with no appeal), or if you change your phone number / email address -you are simply blacklisted and unable to get any assistance.
Anyone applying for unemployment must now use IDMe in Arizona as well as several other states. If you don’t have your old phone number they can text you on, you are out of luck.
This attempt to foist off the responsibilities of government agents to actually be in office ands check ID to ensure people are who they say they are while using a 3rd party online marketer is an obscene waste is money designed to prevent the three most vulnerable and disadvantaged to access government service.

excellent thoughts. i recently sent an email to social security because of a hack i read on the news. social security would not verify the hack and they would not guarantee my information was not stolen. social security would not verify when asked if they had a notification process in place for hacked data. dont think they have one. seems government is taking advantage of all the modern digital accessibility and leaving security accountability to a dispensable third party to release themselves of responsibility.
