Remove guns from Postal inspectors, ATF tax collectors, and other Goveernment people who have no need

There are way too many Gov workers carrying guns these days that have no justifiable need. These are tax collectors, and post office workers. If they have need there is the U.S. Marshals service to help them.

Obama initiated having a non military armed force larger than the military and not subject to the same legal restrictions of using deadly force against us citizens.

The report details significant spending on firearms and military-style equipment by various U.S. executive agencies from FY 2006 to FY 2019. Notably, over $2.7 billion has been spent on these items outside of the Department of Defense. Key findings include:

  1. Total Spending: Approximately $944.9 million was spent from FY 2015 to FY 2019 alone.

  2. Agencies Involved: A wide range of agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and even the Smithsonian Institution, have purchased firearms and ammunition.

  3. IRS Spending: The IRS spent over $21 million from FY 2006 to FY 2019, stockpiling 4,500 guns and five million rounds of ammunition.

  4. DHS Inventory: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) holds a substantial inventory, with hundreds of thousands of firearms reported.

The report emphasizes the growing militarization of federal agencies, raising concerns about the appropriateness of such expenditures for non-law enforcement entities. For detailed insights and data, you can refer to the complete report here.

With the exception of the DoD and agencies specifically created to act in law enforcement capacity there should be no governmental arming of employees.
