The purpose of K-12 education is for educating our future generation to be productive members of society, to reach their life goals and help further the growth of humanity through creative innovation, resourcefulness and knowledge.
Polluting children’s minds with sexually explicit, pornographic and obscene materials and information which deviates away from the intent of education and causes mental health issues of addiction, victimization, perpetuating sex crimes and life long struggles within a family unit, should be eliminated in K-12 education.
The sexualization of children is a risk factor in child sex trafficking, increased incarceration rates, sexual violence and child pornography.
Responsible sexual education, art history and science all have an educational basis for limited sexually explicit exposure. Beyond an educational purpose, which a link back to Standards of Learning and/or can be utilized in a productive manner to benefit the student and society as a whole should be eliminated.
Librarian and teacher reading selections should be free of sexually explicit, pornographic and obscene materials.
Eliminate all immunities for school divisions starting at the school board on down to all employees who provide sexually explicit, pornographic and obscene materials to students.
Teachers, librarians and school staff should be charged under both federal and state laws regarding exposing minors to sexually explicit, pornographic and obscene materials.
School systems which purchase, promote and provide such materials to students should lose funding and the appropriate adult held accountable.
For those students whom exposure to sexually explicit, pornographic and obscene materials has already negatively impacted their lives, a mechanism should be established to seek financial restitution from the school division to be utilized for seeking help and mental anguish suffered.
Victims of exposure to sexually explicit, pornographic and obscene material should have a mechanism established for them to seek financial restitution from the school division for seeking help and mental anguish and physical harms suffered.
Only through responsible education of teaching classes necessary for future careers, not in the pornography industry, will America get back on track to leading the world in public education, innovation and success for all.
