This is an amazing policy idea and I support it with one exception, no government financial assistance of any kind. Do not take property away from one Citizen to give to another. This is essentially what “government assistance” is in a nut shell. Abolish all policies and laws that restrict farmers from producing and let the market decide on the value they provide to other Citizens. Additionally, the policy should be law and not simply policy and it should bar tax on income earned. No special carveouts other than tax free income. Providing carveouts for special activity is how we arrived at the point we’re in now. LESS government is BETTER government in all aspects.
Hi Jay,
That’s a big question, I know that I don’t think it would be an impossibility though, also I didn’t think of it in that way. My thoughts on the Venus Project first originated in 2011 with an earthquake that devastated Christchurch N.Z., and then again in 2020 when in S. Oregon two towns were caught by Pacific N.W. fires and were mostly totaled.
My questions were then and still are; Why do we keep basically running the same models? Why not initiate (The Venus Project) a state of the art design concept in the 21st century as a prototype? It’s a completed and tested model that has been sitting on the shelf for close to 100 years now.
We know we have to seriously change the ways we are living and the ways we do things. Saying that it also appears to be a perfect time opportunity. With what’s transpired with the election outcome, I’m feeling a tangible positivity shift. This provides a real place to begin to take up prominent aspects of the desperately necessary changes needing to be addressed.
In not forgetting your original question, after getting more into this my answer now is;
it doesn’t matter whether or not it can be done in our lifetime; what matters is we can begin to initiate it in real time.
We have all that’s needed to accomplish the beginning of a small scale Venus Project prototype. Also we are looking at the hurricane aftermath in N.C., Florida and… more. This can be seen as an opportunity, it could involve the many coming together with their skills, expertise, funding etc… Combining that with mastermind advice from those like @ElonMusk perhaps, Jacque Frescos’ partner lives in Florida and she is still involved.
There’s no reason not to take this up, it would be a prototype, all parts and phases are available, we don’t have to invent the wheel, that’s already been done, we just follow the instruction manual. We can integrate your proposal, others ideas and expand from there. We ask for advice/participation from people like; @RepThomasMassie, @Earthbasedsoul - (solarpunknomads.xyz) - (http://solarpunknomads.xyz/) and others. We need all the help we can find!
Short Answer Summary:Take steps asap to map a timeline and development plan strategy for the 1st of its kind rebuilding project of the 21st century. Bring this new way of living, this holistic cutting edge model into current areas of devastation.
Looking forward to your input & thanks for all your doing Jay!
Decentralization is a cornerstone of addressing the economic injustices wrought by greed in the health, food, housing, and education sectors. I had thought that an actionable and pragmatic solution might be to take from the non-profit cooperative models that are used in some grocery stores or restaurants and apply that to these sectors so that we can subvert monopolistic greedy enterprises entirely.
Well written!! Thank you for all your hard work! If possible, could you also add somewhere in this that if you are growing food that you would be able to collect rain water from your own roofs and allowed alternative power resources (free energy generator, free solar power - not being controlled by the electric co., etc.). I know most states have bans/laws on these things because they want us dependent on them.
