If the money can be pulled from your account with the swipe of a card then they should be forced to give a refund in the same time frame with the same form of payment unless requested otherwise. This is a large issue with government entities that make a mistake and owe a refund but force you to wait long terms to receive your refund for the money they should not have taken in the first place. For instance. My AL state sales tax was charged to my account twice by mistake and I was told it would take 6-12 months to receive a refund check in the mail.
