While these would almost certainly never pass the requirements for constitutional amendments as currently constituted, there is a potential strategy that could work. If the members of the upcoming 119th Congress vote for the following amendments, they will be grandfathered around them. Put simply, these amendments would only impact congresspeople newly elected to the 120th Congress and beyond. The amendments are:
- Term limits for the Legislative Branch.
- No member of Congress (nor their spouses or dependents) may trade stocks.
- Ten year moratorium on any congressperson from becoming a lobbyist.
