You can not get healthy while living in a sick environment.
The current state of employment in Environmental Stewardship and Green energy fields depends far too heavily on unpaid volunteer positions and jobs that pay nearly nothing in order to get started down any relative career path. So much so that it is nearly impossible to afford to live while working in an environmental career without advanced training or decades of experience.
Please require or incentivize states to invest more heavily in these areas by expanding funding and grants to create simplified and sustainable paths for individuals who would like to break into these careers of environmental stewardship and renewable energy through state sponsored training, bolstered Environmental stewardship programs (increasing the number of Green jobs) and recognizing the importance of those who work in these careers, even if the positions are entry level, by greatly increasing the compensation for these positions.
Considerations could include a minimum wage specifically for environmental conservation and restoration positions that starts at double that of the standard minimum wage.
