Was having a bit of discussion with some of you friends on here The ATF shouldn't regulate Alcohol (because alcohol is food) - #14 by JohnnyAnderson
When I just got a few gears turning in the noggin’.
You know how manufacturers hide so many ingredients under Natural Flavors or Spices on labels? Well, even if they aren’t in the major required labeling requirements for top food allergens, We the People still should have the right to know what is in our food, and calling a company isn’t always feasible when you’re out at the bar or out grocery shopping! And they don’t always provide the information anyway!
So how about we have a QR code included as part of Nutrition Facts on food (and alcohol!) products, that takes you to a centralized page where you can see detailed information on EVERYTHING that’s in the product that wouldn’t fit on the label! Could even work with some app, and you could even put in your dietary restrictions to quickly flag dangerous foods!
For example, say you’re allergic to for example… celery? Or carmine or some odd chemical or dye with some long name. Well, all you would have to do is flag celery as something you can’t eat. Then, when you scan a QR code on the food you are about to buy, it will warn you that it contains celery, and then give you the full list of all the hidden spices and ingredients, with the celery also highlighted in bold red/yellow or something!
OK, have a Merry Christmas in advance, God Bless! And MAGA / MAHA!!
