Put and End to Phone Solicitors

I would like to see legislation that blocks all phone numbers on consumer cell phones and allows only the phone owner to have unblocking rights. This would greatly reduce phone and fraud scams and protect Americans from being manipulated, violated, and disturbed. We should not have to pay to block phone numbers. Blocking phone numbers may not prevent unwanted texts from getting through. This issue should be resolved as well. It is high time to redesign and reorganize our phone system since it has become a major form of communication and most of us don’t leave home without a phone. For our younger generations, the phone is their best friend forever. The phone industry may should become a federal agency to assure the greatest protection for citizens or at least phone service providers should be required to create policies to protect its users from unwanted calls.

Absolutely! Protect Our Right to Peace and Privacy: A Call to Stop Voicemail Spam!

I pay for my cell phone. I pay for voicemail. But what I don’t pay for—and what I never asked for—is relentless harassment from loan solicitors flooding my inbox with junk I can’t escape. Even after registering my phones on the Do Not Call list and explicitly requesting these companies to stop, they continue to barrage me with calls and voicemails, mocking any sense of privacy or choice.

This evening alone, I cleared 19 spam messages just to make room for one I actually needed. That effort shouldn’t be mine. It shouldn’t be anyone’s.

Where are the consequences for these companies? Why are consumers left powerless while sleazy marketers exploit loopholes and technology to sidestep accountability?

We demand:

  • Stronger enforcement of Do Not Call rules, including automated voicemail bans.
  • Fines for repeat violators who ignore unsubscribe requests.
  • Carrier-level solutions to block voicemail spam—without extra fees.
  • Transparency on why third-party apps are needed to do what cell service should already provide.

It’s time to fight for policies that protect everyday users—not empower predatory marketing. I’m not just venting—I’m standing up. I hope you’ll join me.
