The Office of Compliance has paid out $17,000,000 in settlement money for various government officials, but we do not know who our taxpayer dollars are covering and whether or not they are still in office.
This is atrocious.
If any government official is using money to cover up their misconduct, the constituents should be notified of their activity that requried this action. Additionally, that representative’s constitutents should have the opportunity to case votes on whether or not to remove that person from office.
