We need a federal law to protect children from harmful fumes in enclosed spaces like cars, where they are often trapped and exposed to secondhand smoke from tobacco and other products. Children’s lungs are still developing, making them especially vulnerable to toxins that can lead to severe health issues, including asthma, respiratory infections, and long-term lung damage. Exposure to secondhand smoke in such confined spaces can also increase their risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and make them more prone to developing cancer later in life. By enacting a law that bans smoking in vehicles with minors present, we can safeguard our children’s health and provide them with a clean environment that supports their growth and well-being. This simple but crucial measure will protect our children, reduce preventable health risks, and encourage healthier choices for all.
The problem with laws like this one is that it it’s really a heart issue. You cant make laws ment to protect people from themselves.

Of course you can. Is there not a booster seat law in your state to protect children?
