Proposal to make all state laws universal

I would like to see every State adopt the exact same Rules & Laws so that everything is Universal across each state.

So I retired from reviewing rules for the Administrative Code. I reviewed rules from 53 state agencies. They created these rules per a statute or a public act, which I’m sure you are aware.

If the laws going to be universal, that means the states would have to get together and create a new Title Index along with a Part number index.

The universal rules would be a huge undertaking, and I know from my state that the state agencies no longer created their own rulemaking (JCAR created them for the agency) with the exception of very few state agencies.

My concern is, I was approached to train 20 people in creating rules. I’m waiting on a contract to start the training. I always train, when creating a rulemaking, keep the citizens of our state when creating these rules.

I just want to know what path the federal government is going down, so I know what I need to do to train the personnel correctly.

I am really interested in this topic.

The problem with states having the exact same “Rules & Laws” is that each state has its own geography, weather, history, beliefs, cultures, politics and thus very unique Identities/personalities. Not all “Rules & Laws” will or can be applied the same way in every state. People tend to move to states that best fit their personality and personal beliefs. The constitution insures our rights as Americans to be able to travel, follow our dreams and pursue happiness. For many that is a state with stricter laws than another state or one with less laws. We want “less” Governmental over reach, ruling or control over the states.

Whats the point of a state government then? State to the rest of the world means nation/country. We are a union of 50 nations. We all have our own constitutions and ways of doing things. What you are suggesting is practically abolishing the union and forcing them summit to the federal lv. This would cause states to try to leave the union for self independence. We are meant to be structured as an upside-down pyramid within. The top being We the People>town/city gov>county gov>state> federal. The federal lv is there to preserve the union and its constitution and to represent a united front to the world.
