Home and property owners must continually pay taxes on their pursuit of the “American Dream”. I believe once you fulfill your mortgage in full you should be exempt from property taxes henceforth. Many Americans aren’t able to pay off their mortgage until their retirement years. They should be able to enjoy their “Golden Years” of home ownership free of the burden of unjust property taxes.
