Power over taxes

Each year when you file your taxes you will be able to select what your taxes are being used to fund. For example, there are options such as schooling, roads, military, technology for the people, public transportation, etc… However, you cannot choose the same options you chose the previous year for the following year, to ensure taxes are going to all subjects.

Income tax, and property tax are unconstitutional by nature, and need to be abolished.
A sales tax is the only justifiable tax, since govt. helps to provide a safe market, through security, law and regulation.
People really need to stop accepting these tyrannical taxes.

Unfortunately, since the income tax was enshrined in the constitution, via the 16h Amendment, it is constitutional. I agree with you about property taxes, I do not see how they can be considered constitutional.

Since the 16th Amendment establishes the right of the Federal Government to directly tax the citizens, before enacting a Federal sales tax, the 16th Amendment needs to be repealed. We don’t want the feds to have the ability to tax both our income and then tax us again when we spend the money they already taxed.

Enforcing it would be illegal though. According to the bill of rights, we can say, “nope, not paying”, adn they have no right to come take our property away.
So it’s already a toothless amendment that requires voluntary payment.
It’s basically tyranny every time the irs sends thugs to seize property. And that goes against the spirit of the entirety of our founding documents. Wasn’t nearly the whole point to escape from tyranny through unfair taxation?
If there was actually an honest conversation about it, it should be easy to repeal the 16th amendment.

The 16th Amendment is hardly toothless, just ask any of the thousands of people who have lost property, or had their paychecks garnished, or who were sent to prison for not “volunteering” to pay the tax on their income. I worked with many people in the early 80’s who were part of the tax protest movement, once the IRS got hold of them they were draconian in their prosecution of their failure to pay taxes. The protesters attempted to use the fact that the income tax is voluntary as their defense, it didn’t hold up in court. My advice to anyone who is thinking about not volunteering to pay their income taxes is to learn what happened to the protesters who tried it earlier. When it comes to collecting taxes, the IRS doesn’t play. The Feds may be lenient on illegal border crossers, or leftist “protesters” but when it comes to messing with money to which they feel entitled they are relentless in their efforts to bring about “justice”.

Yeah, toothless was the wrong word. Illegal is better.
I’ve heard of people getting charges dropped. I guess they had a judge who actually understood their job was to help protect peoples rights, not infringe upon them.
