Pornography Ban

Or charge for it

Unfortunately banning this is never going to happen and is a completely idiotic idea… however, requiring ID verification for those 18+ and not just a check box should be the initial first step

This may be along the lines of going against the 1st Amendment and while I agree with some of your points, I don’t agree that men have to be “protected” from anything. I think this falls more along the lines of open communication between a couple and their honesty with each other and parents teaching and showing their children what a healthy relationship is.

I agree far more with this. Adults can make their own shitty decisions and does not need the government acting as their parents. Provided something like this even got through it is more likely to irritate people on all sides because the government are acting as the moral police. Moreover, history shows us exactly what bans like this result in. The Prohibition resulted in people just making moonshine and distributing it on a level that not even politicians were following the Prohibition. Moreover, Japan actually tried to ban pornography at one point. The result? People just worked around loopholes to continue to create it. This is undoubtedly what would happen.

I do think that that targeting major distributors like PornHub with simple requirements like them having to put in place a check box to confirm you are 18 or something similar will immediately cut down how much there is. In fact, the proof can be seen in the few states that told PornHub they had to just do this and PornHub proved that they would rather be banned in specific states than keep kids off their site. There also should 100% be investigations into the industry.

We are not a theocracy. We are a Constitutional republic that values freedom. Religious based laws are unconstitutional. Regulated porn with consenting adults is fine. Addiction is the main culprit.

The problem with that is that tech companies would require proof of ID. That leads to online identification of people who might be posting legitimate, dissenting material (what the oligarchs falsely refer to as “disinformation”). ID should never be required for browsing the internet or posting on forums/social media because it enables powerful people to target their opposition.

Remember, all evil that’s committed by a government comes under the banner of something good.

100% correct.

Exactly right. I’m surprised that after years of the wars on drugs, guns, etc. proving these bans to be completely ineffective and even dangerous, people still want to enact bans that often just make things worse.

People need to read up on the history of these types of actions.

Just ban bdsm/hardcore/incest porn. Easy

My problem with a ban is that it does not erase the material, nor does it erase the memory. People will still find ways to watch porn. This goes deeper than the act of watching porn itself. Simply banning it will not break someone’s addiction. This is irresponsible.

I disagree. Why should we care what consenting adults do in the pursuit of happiness in the privacy of their own home?

That being said, I do think viewer age verification should be required by law. I also think words that suggest someone could be illegally underage (jailbait, teen, etc) should be illegal.

i have personally repented of my lust & porn addictions. while it IS a major problem for many people (mostly men), i don’t think banning it is the way to go. one step in the right direction might be to require ALL porn websites to use the internet domain suffix of “.xxx” rather than “.com”, “.net”, etc. then make ALL browsers not even work for any porn site that doesn’t use “.xxx”. it’s perhaps at least a step in the positive and healthy direction. no one will ever be able to effectively ban lust, so we must come up with better ways to help folks who suffer from it.

Gamer brain argument unfortunately. The church is the state and it has been that way since God established the US constitution.

That is a lie.

i agree with you, but just remember, God said “choose you this day” — God gives us all a choice of whether we want to pursue wickedness, or not. i’m speaking as a repentant individual who battled with lust/porn all his life until i got marries at 57.

Unfortunately the only lie here is the great lie that the demonic game developers have been telling you through subliminal messaging and flashing lights. These are tools used to suppress the truth if the Lord God Almighty in the minds of vulnerable young men. Much the same as pornography and satan worshiping music does.

You continue lying. I don’t know where you get your values, but I value honesty.

i hav been able to comment, so i’m confused about your comment… but sorry you are having problems.

Our honesty will be judged only by the lord as we stand in front of the great pearly gates. Those who spread the good word are allowed in, I’m not sure the same can be said for g*mers.

Needs to protect under 18. Needs to be prosecuted for child and underage abuse. Needs to be a state rights issue not Federal. Every state should put it on the ballot.
